Homebuyers have on their plate during potential new home purchase, and the tasks may seem to never end. We’ve created the perfect list for you to begin the search. Give us a call, and we’ll be ready to answer all your questions!
1. How many years have you been a home inspector?
An experienced home inspector will have no trouble answering this question. Your home inspector should be able to provide a detailed history of their work experience, and an approximate number of home inspections completed. Take a peek at our President, Michael Del Greco’s qualifications.
2. What steps do you take to ensure your knowledge is up to date?
As with any profession, it is incredibly important for home inspectors to be in the know when it comes to the latest home inspection requirements. Times change and to ensure you receive the best service, your inspector should be willing to learn about those changes. Michael Del Greco is not only an educator, but he also participates in continuing education programs by exceeding more than 20 education hours per year. 3. What will the inspection cost?
As with most services, prices among home inspectors will vary. While the chosen inspector should have a price within your budget, focusing on the price alone may, unfortunately, translate to cut corners. An inspector with a very low cost will likely lead to a poor home inspection and inadequate reporting. Our prices are very competitive, and when you reach out to us for a custom quote, be sure to ask what the cost covers!
4. How long can I expect the inspection to take?
The answer to this question will depend on the size of the home and other factors. However, you can expect an average, single-family home inspection to last approximately 2-3 hours. When contacting us, please feel free to tell us the size of your potential home, and we will be happy to provide a time estimate.
5. May I stick around during the inspection?
Your home inspector should absolutely not have an issue with you sticking around during the inspection. At Accurate Inspections, Inc., we love the opportunity to educate our homebuyers about their new home!
6. If I still have questions after the inspection, can I give you a call?
A few questions may have slipped your mind during the inspection or even after you reviewed the report. Your inspector should be committed to your understanding of the report’s contents, and this includes answering follow-up questions even after the inspection and report are completed. Our professional staff members at Accurate Inspections, Inc. are available to assist you 7 days a week, so please don’t hesitate to give us a call. Calls requiring the attention of the home inspector are returned promptly, usually within 4 business hours – 7 days a week Please touch to call (973) 812-5100.
7. Inspectors fees seem to vary a bit, how do you determine your fees?
Our Quality Home Inspections aren’t expensive. They’re priceless. Home inspection fees truly do vary. However, there are standards in terms of what we as home inspectors consider when creating fee structures. The primary considerations are education, training, and experience. At Accurate Inspections, Inc., we are proud to offer you an inspector who has not only taught inspectors but has also been in the home inspection field for more than 30 years. What this also means for you is that our inspector not only knows what to inspect while on the property, but he also knows what you expect from him.
