Water hammer or pipe rattle, hints from a home inspector
Water hammer or pipe rattle evidence: plumbing those with left and right hand threads. The inspector may note a condition of corrosion which indicates one should be installed or he may note copper pipes joined to galvanized pipes without these couplings and expects corrosion to eventually occur . No damage or corrosion may be noted at this time. It is likely, however, that corrosion will occur as the electrolytic action "eats away" at the connected pipes. It is recommended that dielectric couplings be installed where necessary
and/or required. Installation of dielectric couplings is not difficult but you may need the assistance of a professional. Contact a plumbing contractor for assistance as may be needed.
