TUB / SHOWER DOOR FAILS TO LATCH / LATCH AMISS

TUB / SHOWER DOOR FAILS TO LATCH / LATCH AMISS: This is a common problem. Shower doors, whether they be sliding or hinged, should be kept tightly closed while the shower is in use. Water spraying through a partially opened door and onto the floor or walls can easily damage the flooring and/or subfloor as well as the walls around the shower. In multi-floored structures the water may run down through the floors and damage ceilings below. Hinged shower doors usually have latches which can be adjusted. The latch is held in place with screws which can be loosened allowing the latch to be moved to a better fitting position. If the latch is broken or not adjustable it may be necessary to install another latching device. Gliding type doors usually can be adjusted to fit better by adjusting the rollers at the top edge of the doors. Other methods of correction may be necessary. If you cannot effect repairs on your own, it is recommended that you consider the assistance of a Shower Door Company.
