Cap or plug needed on open gas valve or pipe, hints from a home inspector
Cap or plug needed on open gas valve or pipe: to prevent the accidental escape of gas or other fuels it is highly recommended that you cap off any open gas lines or valves. Special caps are needed for valves but ordinary pipe caps or plugs are used on pipelines. The most common location for this situation will be at the laundry dryer valve. If you are intending to use a gas dryer this item may be ignored. Contact a plumbing contractor if you need assistance.
