MASONRY WALL CRACK CONCRETE WALL CRACKED

MASONRY / CONCRETE WALLS CRACKED / DAMAGED / AMISS:
This item is checked if the inspector notes cracks or other damages in masonry or concrete walls of any type and in any location. Block walls tend to crack at the joint line, often in a "stair-stepping" fashion. Brick walls may be found deteriorating or with loose or deteriorated mortar. Sometimes the inspector will note damage from heavy equipment or vehicular contact. If the wall is in a basement or below grade room there may be moisture penetration. If the wall is not in danger of falling it may be possible to repair even the most heavily damaged conditions. Using epoxy modified cement mixtures you may be able to effect repairs quite easily. If moisture is coming through the damaged area it may be necessary to apply a special waterproof coating to the wall, usually on the exterior surface. It may be necessary for you to call on the services of a Concrete Contractor, a Waterproofing contractor, a Masonry Contractor, or in the case of minor damages, a Home Repair Service.
