Home Inspection Software - Free Home Inspection Software Development
Home inspection software is something every home inspector needs and something every home inspector would rather not pay to much for. While there are dozens of computer programs written for home inspectors there are some that are too cheap and some so complex most home inspectors will spend more time trying to figure out how the program works than inspecting the home.
Before one goes out and shops for a car it is a great idea for that person to learn how to drive. Prior to spending much time picking out home inspection software it is a great idea to learn how to inspect a home. After you have become a qualified home inspector the very next must be to create a home inspection business plan. If you do not create a home inspection business plan odds are you will not be in business long enough to need the home inspection software you are thinking of buying. NACHI's web site has some good information for home inspectors.
I do not think I met more than a very few home inspection business owners who set out wanting to own and mananage a business. Many like me started a home inspection business because no one would hire a home inspector without any experience because most business owners do not want to pay for the mistakes new home inspectors make. If only every home inspector had my free home inspection software to learn what it takes to make money while running a home inspection business.
Since 1993 I have been a home inspector. Each year the cost of running the home inspection business goes up as the amount of money home buyers want to spend on a home inspection goes down. I do not blame the consumer for the downward fee trend. I blame home inspectors who do not even know they are working for less money than they could earn driving a taxi.
It is a shame many people in the home inspection business keep thinking doing more and more inspections is the key to making more money as a home inspector. I did that for many years before I figured out making little on many home inspections still leaves one with little money at the end of the year. Few home inspectors get out of the home inspection business because they charge too much, many go broke because they charge too little.
Why do home inspectors charge too little? Becuase they do not have a business plan or use the home inspection software they already own to create a spread sheet listing the cost of running a home inspection business vs. how pricing services too low assures them of making little or no profit.
