Handrail requirements
To avoid injury handrails must be secure,
continuously grippable and between 34" and
36" high. If the existing handrails
are inadequate or missing, cure these conditions
to avoid injury. It may seem silly to you
now but the lack of adequate guardrails causes
many injuries and deaths each year, mostly to
the very young and the very old
