Gravity furnace system
Gravity furnace system in a
basement These old systems have no moving parts to break down and they
do not blow dust around, but they should be checked seasonally for flame
color, dust on the unit, and rust and/or holes in and on the ducting.
Some of the older ducts may be wrapped with asbestos containing
materials. The inspector will not indicate whether there are asbestos
containing materials present. The presence of asbestos can only be
ascertained with laboratory testing. If you are concerned with asbestos
and desire this test you should contact an asbestos abatement company or
an asbestos removal company.
