Fireplace screen door damaged missing
Fireplace screen door damaged missing : Given the extreme heat these devices are exposed to it is remarkable fireplace screens and doors last as long as they do. The inspector will enter this item if it is noted that the door pivots, hinges or latches are loose or damaged, if the door glass is loose or broken or if the door assembly is not secured to the fireplace face. This item will also be entered if the screen is damaged or inoperative with respect to opening and closing or its ability to prevent embers from falling onto the hearth or floor. Usually the balky screen can be repaired by lubricating the rollers and slides or by other simple means. If it is not repairable replacement parts are usually available at fireplace shops.
