Fire chamber panel cracked damaged

Fire chamber panel cracked damaged: Most manufactured fireplaces have fire resistant ceramic panels installed on the sides and back of the fire box. These will crack if very large fires are allowed in the fireplace. The back panel is especially prone to cracking. Generally, replacement of the panel(s) will be necessary if excessive cracking is noted. Replacement panels are usually available and are quite easy to install. Contact a fireplace distributor for additional information. Cracked panels can often be temporarily repaired. Heat resistant caulk, which is available at almost all fireplace dealers and some building supply outlets, can be applied with your fingertip, or spread directly from the caulking tube, over the crack effecting adequate temporary repairs.
