Extractor Sewage, hints from a home inspector
Extractor SewageThese pumps pump sewage up to extract it from a home or building that is build lower than the street sewer or the septic system. The only thing these pumps are designed to pump is sewage and what is intended to be flushed down the toilet. If you or your children flush toys, paper towels or other itemst that are not intended to be flused count on buying a new sewage extractor pump.
These pumps require close supervision and regular service. Sometimes
the pressure switches on these pumps fail to operate, the float may stick,
leaks may occur, etc..
Unless the problem is simple and you can repair it yourself it is
recommended that you contact a Plumbing Contractor for assistance.
It is suggested that you learn all you can about this device since it is so
important in the transfer of wastes from the property.
It is not a matter of if these pumps will fail, one day they will. Build replacement of the pumps every five to fifteen years depending upon how you treat them.
