ELECTRIC HEATER GAS WALL HEATER CEILING HEATER

ELECTRIC / GAS WALL / CEILING HEATER INOPERATIVE / AMISS: The inspector notes a condition which indicates the system will not function, function properly or efficiently, or it does not function with normal control settings. Sometimes the inspector will indicate the word "amiss." This could mean many things. One important situation to correct is if the heater case is charged with electricity due to faulty wiring or improper grounding. Another is if the heater is loosely mounted or has parts missing. Very common problems include defective switches and burned out elements--both replaceable. This particular item will usually require the services of an Electrician or Plumber, depending on the heater type. Some repairs may be attempted by the property owner. Ask the inspector for additional information if you desire to repair the problem yourself.
