Drain stop pivot rod connection leaks, hints from a home inspector
Drain stop pivot rod connection leaks : The drain stop pivot rod is the device which lifts the drain stopper up and down in a wash basin (or lav). It is quite common for this connector to leak when the basin is filled with water then released. Sometimes the rod will not be connected or will be in some way damaged or will have parts missing. This problem is generally easy to correct and usually only requires that the nut be tightened. Sometimes the washer under the nut will be worn and will have to be replaced. Contact a plumbing contractor or home repair service if you feel you need assistance with this repair.
