NEW JERSEY HOME INSPECTION NJ

Where is the dirty air located? Unfortunately for many of us it is located in our homes and where we work.

Living in a sealed up tight home is not healthy nor is living in a sealed up work environment.  In most commercial heating and air conditioning systems a certainty percentage of the air that circulates through the building is fresh air.  This is usually not the case in home type heating and cooling equipment.

Installation of fresh air make up systems in homes is expensive and if the systems are not properly maintained they can cost a small fortune to operate.

What can you do?  Pick your carpet, furniture and cleaners carefully. Carpet and furniture out gas, sometimes for years. Read the MDS on the cleaning solutions you like.  My guess is if you knew what were in some cleaners you will stop using them and go to less toxic alternatives.

One of the most carcinogenic vapors in our homes is brought into the home in dry cleaning bags.  Air out dry cleaning in the garage if you can before you bring it into the home.

Electronic air cleaners and high efficiency air cleaning filters are great upgrades.  They can maximize the efficiency of equipment and keep you healthy all at the same time.  Talk about win win!
