A-C temperature differential test:
Generally the temperature of the return air entering the air conditioner
and the cooled air leaving the air conditioner should differ by about 14
to 22 degrees Fahrenheit Below 14 degrees may mean the unit needs freon
or other gasses. Above 22 degrees may mean the filter is dirty or the
air flow is somehow restricted causing it to pass over the cooling coils
too slowly. This may lead to excessive sweating and moisture. The final
test for differential must be done as close to the evaporator coils as
possible to eliminate duct temperature interference.
