Pets 
Installation of electronic air cleaners may help if pets occupied a home before you and you are allergic to them.  Having your ducts cleaned may also help.  Pet hair and pet dander will be blowing around the home for some time so every effort should be made to wash down all hard surfaces and clean all fabrics and carpets with a HEPA vacuum.

Persons allergic to pets are sensitive to the animal dander and saliva attached to dander and hair that is shed by their pets. The animal dander and hair accumulate most heavily in places where the animal sleeps such as on upholstered surfaces and carpeting. When these surfaces are disturbed, the particles become airborne.   The less particles in the home the less there will be to blow around and irritate you.
