CRACKED EARTH UNDER / NEAR
STRUCTURE:
Generally this should be considered an
"information only" item. Cracked earth
may mean moisture has been present and may be
seasonal and may return during the rainy season.
If, under the structure, the earth remains dry
after the rainy season then it may be simple
initial drying after the building was
constructed. Check under the building after
rains to see if moisture is present. Cracked
earth usually indicates expansive soils. Cracked
earth under building may indicate prior moisture
and/or expansive soils.
