SITE FRAMED ROOF FRAMING SYSTEM:
Builders often refer to roof framing which is built at the site as "stick frame" or "cut and stack" systems. Generally this system of rafters is supported by inner load-bearing walls sitting on footings as well as the outer walls. There are many components involved in site framed systems. Be aware that the inspector cannot review or report on conditions that are not visible. Insulation covering parts of the framing system prevents total review of the structural integrity of building. Truss clips, hurricane ties and other important anchoring devices often cannot be seen by the inspector due to insulation, drywall, plaster, vapor barriers, etc. Contact the inspector for additional information concerning this inspection limitation if you desire.
