HOADIE RING

HOADIE RING: This is a stainless steel ring used to hold sinks of all types and shapes into the counter top. Hoadie (hoe-dee or hoo-dee) is pronounced many ways, depending on what part of the country you are in. It is usually found with laminated plastic counter tops but may be used with tile and other materials. If the ring was properly installed, it should not leak, but sometimes plumbers forget to caulk under the ring where it contacts the counter top and/or the sink rim. If you see water leaking under the counter top the ring should be loosened and lifted slightly and caulked. Do not overtighten the ring when reinstalling or the ring may be damaged.
