TOILET WATER
CLOSET CLEARANCES QUESTIONABLE: Generally
one would expect to see at least 15" from
the center of the water closet, urinal or bidet
bowl to walls, vanities or other obstructions.
There should be at least a 21-inch (clearance in
front of the water closet, urinal or bidet to
any wall, fixture or door to any wall, fixture
or door. The inspector enters this finding when
this clearance is obviously less than is
generally seen in ordinary construction. You may
wish to simply live with the situation or modify
the bathroom. Contact a qualified General
Contractor for additional information should you
decide to expand the clearances.
