DIVERTER
VALVE: The diverter valve in a tub/shower
combo, diverts the water from the tub spout to
the shower head. The most common problem with
diverter valves is leakage at the stem. If this
occurs there may be the possibility of water
running into the wall cavity. A new stem packing
may be needed. Sometimes a small knob atop the
tub spout diverts water to the shower head. This
particular type is a low maintenance item which
rarely gives trouble.
