GATE NOT SECURE / DAMAGED / NOT LATCHABLE / DRAG / AMISS:
Gates leading directly to swimming pools should be kept in top shape at
all times. Others should be repaired as part of your regular maintenance
program If the problem is gate screws, try tightening the screws or
putting in longer ones if necessary and/or possible. Otherwise holes may
have to be drilled where the screws are and bolts and nuts installed. If
this is to be done, remove and replace one screw at a time so the gate
won't fall off the post Gates which drag the ground or other surfaces
will in time be heavily damaged. The gate may have to be raised, better
secured, or crossbraced to correct a dragging condition. The surface
below the gate may need to be altered as well Gate latches are easy to
