04d METAL / CHAIN LINK / WIRE FENCES:
Metal fences are usually either chain link, wire, or "wrought iron".  In corrals, metal pipe may be used to prevent destruction by farm animals, especially horses Metal fences are generally considered low maintenance systems Metal fences don't catch much wind and therefore don't blow over or become unstable very easily. If, however, they are exposed to salt air or high humidity climates they can become very high maintenance systems Wrought iron fences should be checked for rust and kept properly painted whereas chain link fences are galvanized and don't usually require painting Check at yearly intervals for rust or corrosion. Remove the rust with sandpaper or a wire brush and touch up with appropriate paint for your area. Contact a Painting Contractor or a retail Paint Dealer for further information.
