OTHER RETAINING WALL / BULKHEAD MATERIALS:
The inspector enters this item when he encounters a retaining wall or
seawall which is constructed in an unusual manner. This may include
metal poles, vinyl or vinyl clad panels, fiberglass or metal panels,
cables, interlocking concrete bars (which are becoming increasingly
popular and are very effective), etc The inspector will review this type
retaining wall for moderate to major deterioration and for moderate to
major movement. The ability of the retaining wall to withstand forces
applied upon it cannot be ascertained by the inspection company.
Complete certainty of the abilities of any retaining wall would require
the excavation and demolition of the retaining wall itself.
