WOOD RETAINING WALL / BULKHEAD:
The inspector will review wood retaining walls or bulkheads for moderate
to major deterioration and for moderate to major movement The ability of
the retaining wall or bulkhead to withstand forces applied upon it
cannot be ascertained by the inspection company. Complete certainty of
the abilities of any retaining wall or bulkhead would require the
excavation and demolition of the retaining wall itself Usually wood
retaining walls are short in height and retain only landscape
accessories. Increased maintenance may be indicated.
