LAWN SPRINKLER MAIN VALVE / STATION SUPPLY VALVE LEAKS AT STEM, SEALS OR
FITTINGS / NOT LOCATED: Leaky main irrigation valves are usually
easy to repair by replacing stem packings or seals or by removing the
leaking fitting and replacing or resealing the threads. Parts are
usually available at Garden Equipment Outlets and Building Supply
Stores. If possible take the offending valve to the store to more easily
match needed parts The inspector may indicate that the irrigation (or
sprinkler) main valve was not located. There may, in fact, be a main
valve present but not obvious. Check with the seller for further
information. Should you need to shut the water off to the sprinklers,
you may need to shut the building water off if no separate valve exists
Contact a Landscape Company or Home Repair service for assistance if
